A Matter Of Time is presently in development as a major feature film, with a screenplay adaptation now being written. With the release of the second edition of the book in 2002, numerous filmmakers with proven success in the film industry have shown great interest in developing and producing the story, including five who have written Letters Of Intent (LOIs). (See below.) Among filmmakers who have indicated interest to date are the Executive Producer of "A Civil Action" and Co-Producer of "Training Day," Sliding Doors," "Selena" and "Searching For Bobby Fisher," and the Producer of "The Watcher," "Swimming Upstream" and over 50 made-for-TV movies. The most often-heard comment from filmmakers and writers is that A Matter Of Time is "the next 'Shawshank Redemption,' likely to be even more successful because it is based upon a true story that is more contemporary.
In April of 2007, the principal partner in "Irreverent Media, Ltd.," a Canadian Film Production company based in Vancouver, BC, with development and production credits in such Academy Award nominated and winning films as "The Accused," "Totsi," "Water" and "Dirty Dancing," and award-winning television series as "L.A. Law," "The X-Files," "NYPD Blue," "CSI" and "The Ring" also have indicated very strong interest in A Matter Of Time. With substantial support from the Canadian government for Canadian produced films (i.e. subsidies, tax credits, etc.), this interest is being carefully reviewed and considered by High Ground Productions as a viable alternative that might enable the film to be produced and distributed at substantially less cost.
We intend to develop, produce and distribute A Matter Of Time...The Movie as an Independent Feature Film until and unless a major studio is contracted that will provide sufficient production, marketing and distribution resources to insure complete technical and professional success of the film, and maximum ROI to its investors. |
